Our GCE Level 2 cohort is now available in a self-paced course this summer.

Become Google Level 2 Certified and Get Credit!

Northern Buckeye has conducted our first ever Google Certified Educator (GCE) Level 2 online cohort during the 2018-19 school year. Now, we are offering a self-paced cohort for teachers during the summer of 2019. This cohort will take an educator through all the preparation they will need for the Google Certified Educator Level 2 exam and it can be done at your own pace.

Pre-requisites for the cohort are either 1) Google Level 1 certification or 2) completion of the Level 1 cohort.

Access to the cohort will open on Monday, May 20th and close on Friday, August 2nd. The course will be facilitated by Google Certified Trainers Kristie Hughes and Chris Malanga using Google Classroom.

There are seven total modules that combine on-demand video Hangout, along with a series of reflections and work products that mimic the format of the Google Certified Educator exam and allow you to showcase understanding of each topic.

Following completion of the self-paced modules, there will be several opportunities in late July and early August for an in-person review session and to take the GCE Level 2 exam with Northern Buckeye staff.

CEU Information

If a teacher participates in the entire cohort, they can earn up to 25 seat hours of time (2.5 CEU) to be used toward licensure renewal. Following completion of each module and verification of the tasks by the instructors, a certificate for three contact hours will be provided (equaling the first 21 hours). An additional four contact hours will be available for the face-to-face review session.

Alternatively, you can choose to receive two graduate credits through Ashland University for an additional cost of $360 ($180 per credit). More information about graduate credit will be coming in the near future.

Cost Info

There is no additional cost for the cohort for teachers and staff from the Northern Buckeye full member districts and 5 full service non-member districts. Click here to see if your district is eligible for free training.

The cost of the cohort is $150 for teachers and staff of other non-member schools or non-public schools.

GCE Level 2 Certification Exam: The exam cost of $25 is to be paid directly to Kryterion by the participant (we will work with you to set this up). Participants may join the cohort even if they do not intend to take the Level 2 Exam.
