Become Google Level 2 Certified and Get Credit!

Northern Buckeye's Google Certified Educator (GCE) Level 2 online cohort is now open to teachers! This cohort will take an educator through all the preparation they will need for the Google Certified Educator Level 2 exam and it can be done at your own pace.

Pre-requisites for the cohort are either 1) Google Level 1 certification or 2) completion of the Level 1 cohort. The course will be facilitated by Google Certified Trainers Kristie Hughes and Chris Malanga using Google Classroom. The course will be open Monday, May 18th through Friday, August 7th.

There are eight total modules that combine on-demand video Hangout, along with a series of reflections and work products that mimic the format of the Google Certified Educator exam and allow you to showcase understanding of each topic. While the course is self-paced, we recommend that participants plan to complete at least one module every two weeks.

Following completion of the self-paced modules, participants are encouraged to take the GCE Level 2 exam. Information on how to register and study will be provided.

CEU Information

College Credit or CEUs - Your Choice!

If a teacher participates in the entire cohort, they can earn up to 24 seat hours of time (2.4 CEU) to be used toward licensure renewal. Following completion of each module and verification of the tasks by the instructors, a certificate for three contact hours will be provided.

Alternatively, you can choose to receive two graduate credits through Ashland University for an additional cost of $360 ($180 per credit). More information about graduate credit will be available at the start of the course.

Cost Info

There is no additional cost for the cohort for teachers and staff from the Northern Buckeye full member districts and 5 full service non-member districts. Click here to see if your district is eligible for this training at no additional cost.

The cost of the cohort is $150 for teachers and staff of other non-member schools or non-public schools. If a group of teachers from non-member or non-public schools wishes to participate, and the school handles payment for the teachers, there is a 50% discount.

GCE Level 2 Certification Exam: The GCE Level 2 Certification Exam is three hours long. The exam cost of $25 is to be paid directly by the participant (we will provide further information). Participants may join the cohort even if they do not intend to take the Level 2 Exam.
