Course Aim. To provide the reporting practitioner with the necessary knowledge and skill to deliver an accurate and unambiguous reports which answer the clinical question, describes a tentative or differential diagnosis and where appropriate includes advice regarding the next step.
Course Delivery. The course is delivered over 4 days at the North West Imaging Academy, Edge Hill University Medical School, with a 5th day for overview and assessment (date to be confirmed).
Content. 40 CXRs specific to the topics for the session, will be uploaded to the online classroom 2 weeks before the session. This will allow each student time to review the case and upload a provisional report. At the teaching the CXRs will be reviewed and discussed with relevant cross-sectional imaging. The session will also include short presentations on each of the topic areas. The teaching will be kept very informal to encourage students to ask lots of questions, and there is also the opportunity to bring along your own cases for discussion.
Course Content. 16 topics areas included with the outline below.
At the end of the course candidates have the opportunity to undertake a formal examination in CXR interpretation held at the Radiology Academy at Edge Hill University. This will not be compulsory.
This Course is a repeat of Dr Kearney's previous CXR which ran over 12 weeks, please do not apply if you have already attended one of the previous courses.
