Here are the groupings and links for your child/children to join live sessions with a teacher during the “Virtual Phase-In Orientation” days. Please see our Classroom Calendar for the days to attend. These groupings are not the Teams that your child/children will be on. Due to the fact that new students are still being added we will not release our Grade 1 Teams until Friday, September 11th. This is also the day for our first materials pick-up. In that packet we will include a hard copy of your child’s/children’s Team schedule for you.

For the first few days of the “Phase-In Orientation,” your child will be online “live” with a teacher twice...9:30-10:30 and 1:00-2:00. We will be doing some get-to-know-you activities, explaining what online learning is like, teaching how to use and navigate Google Classroom, sharing read-alouds, teaching how to use asynchronous learning links and programs, etc. During the “Phase-In Orientation” days your children will also be able to use asynchronous programs when they are not “live” with a teacher. These programs include RazKids, iRead and Zearn. Students will be able to use them when the District has them ready to use and we have taught your child/children how to use them. You will also be notified as to a scheduled time that your child/children will work online “live” with a teacher to do a beginning of the year benchmark assessment.

As you know, virtual learning and creating a “virtual school” is new for us all. Things will continue to evolve and improve. There will be bumps and hiccups infused with a lot of laughter and fun. We will all grow together this year and make the best of the crazy new world we are hopefully temporarily living in.
