2017 Golden Knights Marching Band Information

I am hoping that you have visited this website because you are interested in becoming part of our great tradition at NVOT: the “Golden Knights” Marching Band. The Marching Band at Old Tappan is a lot of fun and a great way to meet new people as you enter high school! You will automatically have 80 + friends when you walk into school on the first day of classes. If you are already a student at NVOT, you will meet so many new people that will welcome you into the music department, a group that we consider a family.

We perform at all home and away football games and also get to travel to festivals and competitions throughout the year. Some of the highlights of this upcoming season include competitions at Met Life Stadium, Marching Band State Championships at Rutgers University and hosting our 2nd Annual "Saturday Knight Lights" Competition in our very own stadium! Our halftime show this year is entitled “4 Elements” and will feature original music that represents Water, Wind, Earth and Fire.

This website contains all of the information that you need to know about our Marching Band. The schedule outlines all of our rehearsals and performances for the season. There is also a registration form and an order form for all of the supplies that you are going to need for Marching Band. Each of these forms needs to be filled out by each registering member. Submit the registration form with your order form with payment (payable to NVOT) for t-shirt, performance dinners, End-of-Season Dinner, and Band Festival tickets to me either through your middle school band director or directly to me at the high school.

We need brass players, woodwind players, percussion players, and Color Guard (the flag and dance group) members! Our first meeting of the 2017 season will be on Wednesday, May 17th from 3:30 to 5:00 pm in the NVOT Band Room. Even if you are on the fence about joining, come to this "Get to Know the NVOT Marching Band Day" and you can try it out! This will give you an opportunity to meet some of the older band members and see what the Golden Knights Marching Band is all about!

I am looking forward to a great season, and I hope you will be part of it. We would love to have you! In the meantime, if you have immediate questions, feel free to email me at Wilcox@nvnet.org, or call me at 201-784-1600, Ext. 24550.
