Chrome Music Lab

You can experiment with the fundamentals of music on Chrome Music Lab. Create your own melodies, rhythms, play with harmonies and timbre! On each Chrome Music page there is a question mark in the top right corner that you can click for more information.

Drag the blobs up and down to change the pitch they sing.
Drag them side to side to change the vowel sound they sing. Listen to the harmonies they make as they all sing together!

Musication Playalongs

You and your family can play along with these videos, using a box, a can, silverware (the video calls this cutlery), and a lid. (Or if you happen to have small percussion instruments on hand, assign each symbol to a different instrument.)

IMPORTANT: Make sure no one is napping and you have permission to make a little music/noise!

Musication Movealongs

You and your family can move along with this Musication video, alternating between running, running and clapping, doing squat jumps, and reaching low and high.

IMPORTANT: Make sure no one is napping, you have room to move safely, and you have permission to make a little noise!

Overview of levels/parts for Home Run 2.0:

Level 1

- run + clap (off-beat) until the special flower

- run (double time) + jump to catch the coins

- stretching exercises in the elevator

Level 2

- run + clap (off-beat)

- skate + jump (catch the coins) + stoop + grind on rail (one leg)

- elevator/lift is broken, so we have to take the stairs. As we walk on the spot, a call and response follows. The ghost demonstrates the rhythms and the students imitate it

Final Round

- run + clap (off-beat)

- Jump into the water and move in slow motion. Wave to the fish around you and slowly move/swim/dive through the water until you end up back and relax at your own spot

Music Assignments for Home Learning

These are optional music assignments that you can do at home. Think of them as Brain Breaks to do after or in between your reading, writing, and math work. I would love to hear what musical activities you are doing at home! Just email me at goodjg@nv.ccsd.net.
