The Internship Interest Form will be reviewed by the CTE/College & Career. Student should be prepared to share information about their internship upon sign up. The office will not provide internships unless they are available and have been posted.

Criteria
The internship program is an extension of the classroom. Students must possess the appropriate knowledge, skill level, maturity, and interpersonal abilities to qualify for an internship.
*Provide my own transportation to and from the internship site.
*Maintain an unweighted overall G.P.A. of 3.0 and not receive less than a “C” in any academic/ elective class beginning in my junior class school year.
*Be on track to graduate and not have to repeat any courses due to a failing grade.
*Have 3 or fewer unexcused tardies and/or absences per semester.
*Taken and passed CTE Program tests
*Possess a copy of any type of legal government identification (i.e. Driver License, Health Card, Social Security, if necessary, etc.)
*Be in good behavioral standing (i.e. no in-house or off campus suspension) beginning in my junior class school year and have no outstanding fines.
*Complete 60 hours during the internship per semester for half credit and 120 hours for one full credit. Or, Work Experience, noted above, required 270 required hours per semester.
*Students must complete one full year of internship.
*At the end of the internship, complete the Internship Reflection.

If criteria is met for internship:
1. Meeting and Canvas Classroom Code will be given to "Approved Students" once Google Form info verified (End of first week of school).
(CRITERIA MUST BE APPROVED)
Review of requirements in meeting, along with quarterly assignment expectations.
2. An email will be sent to students to complete required CCSD/NWCTA electronic forms.
3. Required meeting with Ms. Rivera-Negron for review of expectations.
4. Ms. Rivera-Negron will work with Ms. Abeyta for schedule changes.
5. All paperwork must be completed before internship hours will be counted.
6. Administration will sign off on all final approved internships. Failure to comply with criteria will result in immediate removal of the internship opportunity, with negative overall grade implications.
Internship - Seniors Only
(Paid and/or Unpaid- 60 Hours/Per Semester)
**MOST COMMON
This one-semester course provides work-based learning experiences for students focusing on a specific career cluster. Students spend time in the classroom and at the internship site. Internships can be paid or unpaid work experiences of at least 60 hours in length. To receive credit for this course, students must fulfill all classroom and internship worksite requirements. Instructional practices incorporate integration of diversity awareness including appreciation of all cultures and their important contributions to society. This course fulfills one-half elective credit for high school graduation and may be repeated for one additional semester for a total of one credit.
This one-year course is designed to provide students with an exploratory work experience which introduces them to the world of work and bridges the gap between school and work. Students must be employed in a paying position. Students gain employability skills related to the program of study by completing a minimum of 270 hours of paid work experience per semester. Instructional practices incorporate integration of diversity awareness including appreciation of all cultures and their important contributions to society. The appropriate use of technology is an integral part of this course. This course fulfills one of the elective credits required for high school graduation.
