Madrigal Singers is an auditioned ensemble featuring mixed voices. Students are selected based on independent vocal ability, sight reading skills, character, and team-working skills. Students in the ensemble perform outside of school at various CCSD events, carol during the winter season, and perform annually at UNLV Madrigal Invitational and the CCSD Chamber Festival. Madrigal Singers also travel all over the West Coast annually.
Varsity Chorus is an auditioned ensemble featuring tenor/bass voices. Singers in Varsity work on vocal technique specific to the changing and newly changed voice, sight reading skills, and tone production. Varsity Chorus performs annually at the CCSD Advanced Choral Festival.
Bellas Cantantes, or Beautiful Singers, is an auditioned ensemble comprised of treble voices. Singers in this ensemble work on advanced vocal technique, sight reading skills, and mature tone production. Bellas Cantantes performs annually at the CCSD Advanced Choir Festival.
Cantare is a treble ensemble for intermediate sopranos and altos. Singers in Cantare will work on building beautiful tone, improving sight reading skills, and work on skills needed for singing in an ensemble.
Concert Choir is an ensemble featuring mixed voices, grades 9-12. This choir performs at four concerts annually, and attends the Basic High School Intermediate Choral Festival. Singers in Concert Choir work on the basics of vocal technique, sight reading skills, and the beginnings of beautiful tone production. No audition is required to sing in Concert Choir.
