Miss Sanchez

Hello! I am Jocelyn Sanchez, and I am pleased to welcome you to the 2020-2021 school year! I am looking forward to getting to know and work with all of you this year. This will be my 2nd year teaching 8th grade science at Bailey. I worked as a lab instructor at the Community College of Southern Nevada (CSN) and a substitute for CCSD before jumping into middle school. I received my Bachelors in Chemistry from the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) and my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction for Secondary Science from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). I have loved math and science ever since I was a CCSD student myself. I love staying active outdoors so you will always find me running or hiking during my free time.

This is going to be a challenging year for all of us, but we are in it together. Please know that as a team we will be working hard for all of our students and look forward to working with you as we tackle all the challenges together!

Mrs. Riker

Hello Blue Jays!

I am Mrs. Riker and I am so excited to get to know you all. This is my third year teaching 8th grade Science at Bailey Middle School, and I do not plan on leaving unless my husband (Air Force) gets orders for our family to move. We have two boys, Riley (4 years old) and Rowen (2 years old). During the winter I seize every opportunity to hit the snow either with our boys sledding, or with my husband snowboarding. During the spring I usually coach volleyball, but we will see what our Covid-19 adventure allows. These times are uncharted waters for us all, only together will we map it.

Ms. Cleveland

Hello Bailey Blue Jays!

I am Ms. Cleveland and I am looking forward to getting to work with you all this year. This is my 3rd year at Bailey Middle School and I personally feel we have the greatest science team ever. Together we will navigate the challenges that Covid-19 has brought us and we will still come out strong.

I am married to my wonderful husband and we love going on adventures together. We love going camping and enjoying the outdoors. Hiking, fishing on our boat or shore, or just enjoying nights out star gazing is where happiness is found. I love music including playing the French horn, trumpet, and trombone and singing. Lastly, I love life science, figuring out how the world works and living creatures survive and interact with each other is so fascinating.
