RE 84 : Congenital Horseshoe Kidney

CASE HISTORY

This child was born outside and admitted practically moribund. At postmortem death was due to Tetralogy of Fallot with bronchopneumonia. This renal lesion was an incidental finding.

PATHOLOGY

The specimen consists of the kidney tissue together with the ureters, bladder and vascular supply. Part of the front of the kidney has been removed to show the structure. The kidney appears normal apart from the congenital defect.
