RE 83 : Kidney – Horseshoe kidney

PATHOLOGY

The two kidneys are fused together into a horseshoe shape and have been mounted together with their blood supply. It will be noted that the two halves of the fused kidney have separate blood supplies and separate ureters. The cut surface of the kidney can be seen from the back of the specimen. It shows no abnormality apart from the fusion.
