CASE HISTORY
Patient was admitted with a history and symptoms of duodenal ulcer with pyloric stenosis. A posterior gastroenterostomy was performed. He died four days after admission. Incidental finding at autopsy revealed colonic polyp.
PATHOLOGY
Colon 140mmx90mmx4mm. The specimen consists of the lower part of the pelvic colon, showing a large, rounded, oedematous polyp with a narrow stalk. The mucosa of the polyp is congested and shows some erosions, particularly on the posterior aspect of the specimen. There is no suggestion of malignancy. The mucosa of the colon shows no pathological changes.
