CASE HISTORY
This man was for 12 years a labourer in a stone crushing works at polkerton.
PATHOLOGY
This specimen was described in a paper on "The Differential Diagnosis of Tuberculo-silicosis", Proc. Roy. Soc. Med 1933, 26,15. Opposite the hilum is a large localised area of dense black fibrosis which shades off above and below into greyish fibro-caseous tuberculous lesions. The air-containing parts of the lung at apex and base are mottled with nodular collections of dust pigment.
