Courseware Development
Courseware Development
The Digital Learning Team partners with our faculty and clinicians to create interactive and engaging courseware for our learners. The courseware will be designed based on sound design principles to ensure that they are instructional, informational and appealing. We adopted the ADDIE model to frame the design and development process; throughout every stage, our designers will work closely with you. The following is a short description of each stage:
At the analysis phase, the learning designer will collaborate with the faculty or clinician to identify the learning outcomes, understand the pain points students encounter, assess the current format of the content (e.g., video, PowerPoint slides, PDF), evaluate the comfort level with digital solutions, and establish the timeline.
Based on the facts gathered, our learning designer will draw up strategies, based on sound pedagogical consideration, to revamp the learning resources. These will be shared with the faculty or clinician and upon approval, the project will transit to the development phase.
This phase relies heavily on various technologists; namely, Multimedia Developers, videographer, etc. It is where the rebuilding of the learning resource happens. Both the Learning Designer and Faculty are still very much involved to ensure content accuracy and pedagogical soundness.
All the work from various sub-teams are consolidated to form the learning resource. Our learning designer will thoroughly review the combined resource to ensure consistency in design, language, and other elements. The faculty or clinician will be involved to verify content accuracy and ensure the final product aligns with their vision.
In the final phase, the learning resource is made available to students. After the lesson, our learning designer will gather feedback from both the faculty or clinician and the students. The feedback will be shared with the development team, allowing the lessons learned to be applied to improve future iterations of this project or other projects.
