The EMR Simulator is a collaboration initiated through the joint efforts of the Year 5 Assistant Dean and doctors from TTSH (Tan Tock Seng Hospital) with the support of Digital Learning team in developing the simulator.
The EMR Simulator aims to provide M5 students with hands-on practice in familiarising with the EMR system.
Building on this foundation, the project also incorporates diverse patient sample data to simulate a wide range of medical scenarios, enabling students to develop effective strategies for managing different clinical situations. The primary objective is to establish a simulator that guides M5 students through key medical domains within a safe and structured learning environment.

The clinical notes segments allow medical students to develop skills in drafting clinical notes, enabling them to articulate patient assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans proficiently.

2. Patient Records Access and Retrieval:
The summary segments aim to develop student’s proficiency in navigating the EMR system to access and retrieve patient’s past records.

The result segments offer a platform for students to practice monitoring and reviewing patient’s clinical test results such as laboratory test, ECG, urine test and X-ray imaging.

4. Appropriate Treatment Ordering:
The ordering segment trains students to order, cancel and modify various pharmacological treatments, medications, diets, and laboratory tests accordingly to specific patient’s case-studies scenario presented.

5. Discharge Summary writing:
The Discharge Summary segment trains students to provides a comprehensive summary of a patient's hospital stay and care plan upon discharge.
In essence, the EMR Simulator project serves as a bridge between theoretical knowledge and practical application, equipping M5 students with the skills and confidence required to effectively connects classroom learning with real-world practice.
