Objects have been photographed in order to display visual qualities and to convey ideas. The photographers Edward Weston and Colin Wilson have used careful focus and lighting to produce black and white photographs which emphasis the textual qualities of objects. In his series 'Colour Still Life' Albert Chong produces photographs by making an assemblage of natural and manufactured objects combined with old family documents and photographs. In her 'Portraits of My Family' Camilla Catrambone photographs collected objects that represent the interests of family members.
