Dr. Nazia Majadi

I am working as an Associate Professor at the Department of Computer Science and Telecommunication Engineering, Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU). I received my Ph.D. degree in Information and Communication Technology from Griffith University, Australia. My Ph.D. thesis is entitled topic "Real-Time Detection and Prevention of Shill Bidding in Online Auctions". My research interest falls in the applications of Artificial Intelligence, Machine learning, and Natural Language Processing. I am a passionate woman who would like to bring change in society with the tools of technology and build a bridge between people and technology.

• 23/06/2025 - Received Vice Chancellor's Award for the Best Women Researcher 2025 from whole university.

• 25/06/2024 - Let's congratulate Md. Jubayar Alam Rafi and Mohammad Rony for accepting the first outcome of their undergraduate thesis in the Data in Brief journal.

• 24/06/2024 - Awarded research grants from the Ministry of Education, Bangladesh for the project "A Smart Fish Farm Monitoring and Management System using Internet of Things (IoT) and Machine Learning". The project duration is about 3 Years (2024-27). The amount awarded: 12 Lacs (10213.82 USD).

• 10/05/2024 - Awarded ICT Innovation Fund FY 2024 for the project "An Intelligent Paper Currency Recognition System for Blind and Visually Impaired Persons in Bangladesh". The project duration is about 1 Year—the amount awarded: 10 Lacs (8511.52 USD).

• 30/01/2024 - The fifth contribution from my Ph.D. has been accepted in the Journal of Information System Security (JISSec).

• 27/01/2024 - Congratulations Mimusa Azim Mim and Peal Mazumder for hitting Heliyon (Q1 Journal, IF: 4.00) to publish their undergraduate research.

• 25/01/2024 - Research grant for a project entitled “A Machine Learning Approach for Identifying the Factors Affecting Work-Life Balance of Professional Women in Bangladesh”, Research Cell, Noakhali Science and Technology University. The amount awarded: 1 Lac 90 Thousand (1727.29 USD). Date:  01/2024.

• Md. Jubayer Alam Rafi and Mohammad Rony have received NST fellowships for completing their M.Sc. degree. 

• The fourth contribution from my Ph.D. has been accepted in the Journal of Information System Security (JISSec).

• Research grant for a project entitled “Development of a machine learning system for thyroid dysfunction diagnosis based on routine laboratory tests in Bangladesh”, University Grants Commissions of Bangladesh (UGC), Bangladesh. The amount awarded: 3 Lacs (2817.60 USD). Date:  03/2023.

• My honors student Mimusa Azim Mim has received both an ICT fellowship and an NST fellowship to complete her M.Sc. degree.
