Lecture Series: An Updated Depositional Model for the Granite Wash, Anadarko Basin, USA - The Anadarko Basin has been a significant hydrocarbon producing region in North America since the 1920's and new extraction techniques have extended its production in recent years. One of the more complex reservoirs in the Anadarko Basin is the Granite Wash. Working on BP's North American Gas (NAG) Renewal Paleozoic Exploration Team, Jesse Koch, Ph.D., and his colleagues constructed an updated depositional model for the Granite Wash that emphasizes numerous facies changes in the region. Their research makes a strong case that the Granite Wash was deposited in a "shallow-water river-dominated delta system" which opposes work previously done in the area. We would like to thank Jesse for an outstanding presentation and all of the students who attended the last lecture of the semester! We hope everyone enjoyed the 2012 Spring Lecture Series and we look forward to seeing everyone again for next semester's lectures.
