Update for the Week of March 14th

We would like to welcome Mrs. Emilia Brozek (Woeppel) to Norris!! Emilia will be taking over for Mrs. Doeschot.

State Convention Notes

1. Wednesday will be heavy contest day-we will transport to and from school this day.

2. We will take a large group on Thursday, students need to sign up on THIS FORM.

3. Friday awards session is at 1 pm and State Degree Session starts at 4 pm.

FFA Jackets-If your student needs to order one let Mr. Kubik know ASAP an order will be placed Monday Afternoon. $75 for jacket and tie/scarf--They will need for State Convention Events

Results From LDE on January 17th are on the Lastest Highlights Page! THEY DID VERY WELL!!!!

FFA Members are invited to go Ice Skating on Friday Night From 7:30 to 9:30. More info coming out on Remind this week!

We have 10 members interview for their State Degree on February 2nd. This is based on their SAE Project. The State Degree is the highest honor you can get at the state level.

Students are able to sign up for Career Development Events this week!! Look in Ag Hallway for signup sheets. Our next chapter meeting will be covering some of the CDE's members can compete it so they know what to expect when competing in that contest.

Update for the Week of December 20th

Christmas Tree Pick up--Members will be picking up Christmas Trees on January 3rd starting at 9 am. We will take these trees to Holmes Lake to be chipped into wood chips. We will eat at Culvers after!! The signup sheet is on google classroom

District 1 LSE to be held at Norris on January 17th--I think we are short a few judges so if you could help out that day let me know--otherwise

Career Fair--February 10th 1:30 to 3:30 for Students and 3:30 to 6:30 for Students/Parents

AKRS Career Day--Students need to let me know if interested so I can sign them up.

AKRS Equipment will be hosting a career event for a select group of students at our AKRS Equipment location in Crete on Thursday, January 27, 2022 from 9:00 to 12:30 and would like to invite you to identify up to 8 students from your school who would be interested in this opportunity.

Students selected for this event should possess the following:

· Mechanical and technical inclination

· An interest in active hands on work

· An interest in agriculture

This career event will give the selected group of students an opportunity to explore the world of a John Deere Ag Technician and will introduce them to the opportunity to earn a John Deere Ag Tech Degree through our Jump Start Scholarship. Our scholarship includes a tuition reimbursement plan through which a student’s tuition and fees can be paid at up to 100%. Our scholarship also provides students with additional bonuses to allow them to purchase tools and cover other living expenses. We will cover our Jump Start Scholarship in detail during this event.

Fall Party will be at Roca Berry Farm on Oct 3rd from 5-7:00 pm. Members need to sign up and can check google classroom for the SIGN-UP. Members can get food there on their own. The chapter will pay the entry fee!!

We have 4 spots for Norris FFA Members to attend National FFA Convention October 26-30. They need to fill out THIS APPLICATION and it is DUE September 21st at 3:30 pm to Mr. Kubik or Mrs. Doeschot.

6 FFA members will be participating in LAUNCH! Partnering with Engler Program at UNL to work to start a school-based business. The Kick-off will be Tuesday night on East Campus and then a full day on Wednesday.

Fall Party will be at Roca Berry Farm on Oct 3rd from 5-7:00 pm. Members need to sign up and can check google classroom for the SIGN-UP.

Land Judging will be on October 6th. Students wanting to be a part of this need to let Mr. Kubik know by Monday this week!!
