Emily Edwards

FAIRGROUNDS MIDDLE SCHOOL

Emily Edwards attended Haverford College in 1999 and studied oil painting. During her junior year she studied art abroad in Florence, Italy. She graduated in 2003 with a Bachelors in Fine Arts. In 2008 she started studying Art Education at Framingham State University and graduated in 2011 with a Masters in Art Education.

Emily has been teaching for art for 11 years. She completed her student teaching at her old junior high in Falmouth, MA. She started teaching in Hopkinton, MA and was there for 3 years. She did a long term substitute job at Lexington High School and then accepted a job in Sandwich on Cape Cod. After two years in Sandwich, her school closed forever and she took a job in Phoenix, Arizona. After two years of teaching in Arizona, she moved back home to be closer to family. She started working part-time at Fairgrounds Middle School in 2017. This is currently her third year at Fairgrounds.

Emily also coaches the girls soccer team in the fall, runs the art club after-school and coaches track in the spring.

Emily started painting realistic still lives in college using bottles, flowers and bones. After college she started working more abstractly, using her grandfathers international butterfly collection for inspiration. Currently she has been dabbling in the world of paint pouring.
