The Mentor Program is an after-school program designed to connect middle school musicians with high school musicians to develop musical skills. High School Mentors are experts on their instruments and dedicated to forming meaningful, working relationships with middle school students. Students who are part of this program benefit from a close connection with inspiring peers, small group interaction, and focused, expert coaching on their instrument. This experience enhances the classroom experience in full band ensemble and provides additional support for growing independent, skilled musicians. In addition, the connection middle school students form with older mentors often provides encouragement as students move through Nashua's music program and into high school.
This year, the Mentor program will be forming small chamber ensembles and prepare an afternoon concert at Nashua's trendy Riverwalk Cafe. Registration is due no later than September 21 in order to participate.
