Parent and Family Engagement Policy

Moroni Elementary School will follow the parental policy guidelines listed below. The school community council will update this policy annually. Parents will receive a copy of this policy at the annual Title 1 meeting combined with the Back to School Night at the beginning of every school year. This policy is posted on the school webpage. Moroni Elementary, the parents of the students, and the students agree that this compact outlines how all parties share the responsibility for improved student academic achievement and the means by which the school and parents will build and develop a partnership that will help children achieve high standards.

School Responsibilities

Moroni Elementary will:

  1. Provide high-quality curriculum and instruction in a supportive and effective learning environment that enables the participating children to meet the State’s student academic achievement standards.
  2. Hold parent-teacher conferences during which this compact will be discussed as it relates to the individual child’s achievement.
  3. Convene an annual meeting (Back to School Night, or other opportunity) and explain the requirements and the rights of the parents to be involved in their child’s education in our School Improvement Plan and in the disclosure statements sent home
  4. Encourage parents to become involved and communicate with the School Community Council
  5. Offer a schedule of meetings so more parents might attend (notice on the front doors, listed on the school calendar, posted on the school website)
  6. Involve parents in an organized, ongoing, and timely way to plan, review and recommend improvements to school-wide policies and practices
  7. Provide parents with frequent reports on their children’s progress.
  8. Provide parents reasonable access to staff.
  9. Provide parents opportunities to volunteer and participate in their child’s class or school.

Parent Responsibilities

We, as parents, will support our children’s learning in the following ways:

  • Monitoring attendance.
  • Making sure that homework is complete.
  • Set limits on television viewing and video game playing.
  • Volunteering in my child’s classroom or school.
  • Participating, as appropriate, in decisions relating to my children’s education.
  • Promoting positive use of my child’s extracurricular time.
  • Staying informed about my child’s education and communication with the school by promptly reading all notices from the school or the school district either received by my child or by mail and responding, as appropriate.
  • Serving, to the extent possible on the Schools Community Council, District Policy Advisory Committee, and other school advisory or policy groups.

Student

We, as students, will share the responsibility to improve our academic achievement and achieve the State’s high standards. Specifically, we will:

  • Do my homework every day and ask for help when I need to.
  • Read at least 20 minutes every day outside of school time.
  • Give to my parents or the adult who is responsible for my welfare all notices and information received by me from my school every day.

By signing this compact each participant agrees to fulfill the responsibilities as outlined.

Política de participación de padres y familiares

La Escuela Primaria de Moroni, los padres de los estudiantes de la escuela, y los estudiantes acordamos en este contrato cómo todos debemos compartir la responsabilidad de mejorar el alcance académico, que quiere decir cómo la escuela y los padres construiremos y desarrollaremos un convenio que ayudará a que los estudiantes alcancen los altos estándares (niveles) del Estado.

Este contrato está en efecto durante el año escolar 2019-2020

Responsabilidades de la escuela

La escuela primaria:

  • Proveerá un programa e instrucción de alta calidad para fomentar eficazmente un ambiente de aprendizaje que permita a los participantes que alcancen los niveles académicos del Estado.
  • Participará en las conferencias de padres y maestros durante las cuales este contrato será discutido para que cada estudiante alcance los niveles deseados
  • Proveerá a los padres con frecuentes reportes acerca del progreso de sus estudiantes
  • Proveerá a los padres un acceso fácil para comunicarse con sus maestros
  • Proveerá la oportunidad de que los padres participen como voluntarios en las clases de sus hijos(as) o en la escuela

Responsabilidades de los padres

Nosotros, como padres, apoyaremos a nuestros hijos(as) a aprender de la manera siguiente:

  • Asegurarnos de la asistencia
  • Asegurarnos de que llevarán la tarea completa
  • Limitar el tiempo que pasan viendo televisión y jugando videojuegos
  • Participar como voluntario en la clase de nuestros hijos(as) o en la escuela
  • Participar apropiadamente en las decisiones referentes a su educación
  • Promover el uso apropiado del tiempo
  • Estar informados acerca de la educación de nuestros hijos(as) leyendo las notas que mandan la escuela o el Distrito Escolar, ya sea que los niños las lleven o se les envíen por correo y responder rápidamente y apropiadamente
  • Servir a la manera posible en el Consejo de la Comunidad de la Escuela, en los comités de consejo, y otros grupos que determinan su educación

Responsabilidades de los Estudiantes

Nosotros, como estudiantes, compartiremos la responsabilidad de incrementar nuestros alcances académicos para obtener los altos niveles del estado. Específicamente, nosotros:

  • Haremos las tareas todos los días y pediremos ayuda si la necesitamos
  • Leeremos por lo menos 20 minutos cada día en casa
  • Entregaremos a nuestros padres o tutores las notas o informes que nos den en la escuela ese mismo día
