Thanks for being here! I'm Eric Miller (he/him), and I'll be your choir and/or music teacher this year.
I am a choral conductor and clinician, music theory instructor, and bass-baritone singer. I love teaching at Nashoba! My favorite music things are choral conducting, teaching singing technique, and music from the 1600s and even earlier. As well as teaching, I still sing professionally--I sing with Vox Futura (a recording choir) and sometimes I sing in a medieval ensemble called Meravelha. I love traveling and have also gotten to sing many times in Europe, both in Italy and Croatia. This summer, I sang and taught in California. In my free time, I love cycling, video games, gardening, and purchasing pairs of silly socks. In the summers, I work on a farm!
My goal is to give students the tools to be lifelong learners and lifelong musicians. I want you to be able to engage deeply with music for the rest of your life, whether you become a professional musician, sing in community choirs for fun, or listen to music while you go for a run.
Beyond music, I also hope to instill in my students values of kindness, conscientiousness, service to others and their community, and self-knowledge and self-respect.
