First grade is an AMAZING year! We’ll work a lot on the foundations of reading as we strengthen our literacy skills. We’ll also become strong writers as we'll learn how to write across multiple genres. We’ll improve our math skills as we learn strategies, play games, and use a hands-on approach to acquire new skills and concepts. In Science, we’ll learn about the moon and patterns in our sky, study animals and their habitats, and experiment with light and sound.  We’ll create and interpret maps, learn about holidays and traditions around the world, explore national symbols and a whole lot more!
