AP Physics C General Outline
In AP Physics C we tackle the typical 1st year of calculus based physics for science and engineering majors. The AP Exam is scheduled for Tuesday May 14, 2024 (afternoon session). The areas of study include the following:
Introductory calculus of physics, vectors, and graphing
Linear Motion (1D Kinematics)
Two Dimensional Motion (including projectile motion and circular motion)
Newtons Laws - Balanced and Unbalanced Forces
Work, Energy, and Power
Conservation of Energy
Momentum, Impulse, Center of Mass
Rotational Motion - Torque and Rolling Motion
Rotational Motion - Angular Momentum (also planetary motion)
Simple Harmonic Motion
Universal Gravitation - force, field, and potential
Electric Force and Field
Electric Potential
Gauss's Law
Capacitance and Dielectrics
Electric Circuits - Resistive and Capacitive (and RC)
Magnetic Forces and Fields
Electromagnetism
Electromagnetic Induction (and Maxwell's Equations!)
