Grading Policy 

Students grades are calculated by a weighted average with the following category weighting

Homework/classwork - 10% 

There will be  daily homework assignments, They are assigned throughout the week are due the next day.  These assignments are given full credit as long as work is turned in on classroom and a grade of 65% or higher is achieved.  

If a student scores below 65% they should conference with Mrs. Rykus about their work and then they may be given an opportunity to make corrections for full credit. (this depends on the quality of the work turned in)

Students are offered assistance on classwork assignments and may often collaborate with peers (These assignments are started in class and finished at home if necessary.) Usually students are given an opportunity to make corrections to classwork assignments.

Tests - 60% 

A cumulative assignment where no help or collaboration is allowed and students are expected to complete independently.

Usually there are no corrections or extra credit given on an assessment.

Most weeks there is a test or a quiz.  Students are always supplied with a review and are given advance notice in class and on google classroom. 

Quiz - 30%

A smaller assignment where no help or collaboration is allowed and students are expected to complete independently in class.

Students will be notified of quizzes but are not always given a study guide.

When students are absent they are expected to use google classroom to stay informed of class assignments and notes.
