Who Am I?
I am the school counselor for the students in 1st through 3rd grade. I have been here at Moscow Elementary Center since 2010. Not only am I a counselor, I am a teacher as well. Prior to being employed for the North Pocono School District, I taught 4th grade in another local school district. I have a love for elementary education and students well-being. It is my goal to help children be not only successful academically but social/emotionally as well.
Community Resources
If you are looking for outside referrals, the North Pocono school counselors publish a Community Resources directory, which is available here. Please give me a call or email...I can help get you in the right direction.
Classroom Lessons
Every month, the students of MEC participate in guidance lessons. The goal of the lessons is to address social emotional skills as well as character education. They are fun and interactive. It truly is my favorite part of being a school counselor.
Topics covered are:
Making good choices Bullying
Peacemaking Feelings
Friends Gratitude
Career Listening
Responsibility Goal Setting
Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS)
The PBIS, or Positive Behavioral Intervention and Support, program at MEC recognizes students in grades K-3 for being Respectful, Responsible, and Safe in all areas of the school and in the community as well! Students can earn the following rewards for exhibiting positive behavior.
Trojan Tickets
MEC Money
Shopping at the School Store
Quarterly School wide "Blowouts"
*Be Respectful *Be Responsible *Be Safe
MEC students can be respectful by following school and classroom rules. They can be responsible by being prepared for the day. Students can be safe by walking through the halls and keeping hands and fee to themselves.
