Who Am I?

I have been the school counselor here at Moscow Elementary Center since 2010. Not only am I a counselor, I am a teacher as well. Prior to being employed for the North Pocono School District, I taught 4th grade in another local school district. I have a love for elementary education and students well-being. It is my goal to help children be not only successful academically but social/emotionally as well.

Community Resources

If you are looking for outside referrals, the North Pocono school counselors publish a Community Resources directory, which is available here. Please give me a call or email...I can help get you in the right direction.

Classroom Lessons

Every month, the students of MEC participate in guidance lessons. The goal of the lessons is to address social emotional skills as well as character education. They are fun and interactive. It truly is my favorite part of being a school counselor.

Topics covered are:

Making good choices Bullying

Peacemaking Feelings

Friends Gratitude

Career Listening

Responsibility Goal Setting

Olweus Bullying Prevention Program

This research–based program reduces bullying in schools. It also helps to make school a safer, more positive place where students can learn.

Although this program takes place at school, we need your help, too. You can talk about bullying and our school’s anti-bullying rules at home with your child. We want to work with you to prevent and stop bullying from happening in our school

What is Bullying?

Bullying is when someone repeatedly and on purpose says or does mean or hurtful things to another person who has a hard time defending himself or herself. Bullying can take many forms, Such as hitting verbal harassment spreading false rumors, not letting someone be a part of a group, and sending nasty messages on a cell phone or over the Internet.

Our School's Anti Bullying Rules

1. We will not bully others.

2. We will help students who are bullied.

3. We will include students who are left out.

4. If we know that somebody is being bullied, we will tell an adult at school and an adult at home.
