Val McGriff

ARTIST STATEMENT BY VAL MCGRIFF, NPHS CLASS OF 2020

Even though I won’t be an art major in college, I still plan on applying these skills I’ve learned over the years into my life. Whether it brings in some money or I’m just making pieces out of enjoyment, I definitely won’t stop making art. Art allows me to express the way I feel without me having to use words. In other words, art is my therapy and it lets me be unique and not judged. You can take an ugly situation or concept, and make it into something beautiful. Another thing I love about art is that there are no mistakes, which makes the experience even more relaxing. Since I want to be a therapist, I think using art during sessions could really help others the same way it has helped me.

CONGRATULATIONS VAL!

Best of luck as you continue your education at Bloomsburg University!
