Gwyn-Nor Elementary Celebrates Kindness Week

Rather than pass out Valentine's Day Cards as we have done in the past, we decided to utilize Random Acts of Kindness week held from February 14th-20th to create cards to send out to our first responders, local businesses, community heroes, active duty military and military veterans in our community. We wanted them to know that we appreciate them and it taught all of our students the value in spreading love and kindness (especially during our current difficult circumstances). We asked our recipients to take a photo of their cards and send us a message back if they were able. Below are the responses we have received back so far!!!!

Upper Gwynedd Police Department

To Mrs. Morse and the 4th grade class:

Thank you for the wonderful thank you letters you sent to the officers of UGPD. They loved getting them and reading them and I know it brightened their day and put smiles on their faces to know that they have the support of this wonderful community they serve every day. Keep up the good work on spreading kindness throughout our world each and every day!

I have attached a few pictures I took of the officers after they received your letters....

US Military Veterans

Hello first graders! My father doesn't use email but he asked if I would send you his picture with his card. You really brightened up his day, so thank you for thinking of him.

William Dottolo

(and his daughter Desiree)

Thank you for the pictures. I loved them.

Robert Bailey

Hello Mrs. Bertoti and the 1st graders of Gwyn-Nor Elementary!!! I want to thank you all so very much for your 'kind' letter and thanking me for my being in the military years ago. I also want to thank Jackson for the wonderful drawing he made on my letter. It is very special to me. By your sending me that drawing and letter, you have really showed me kindness, which is celebrated during Kindness Week.. You all have truly showered me in KINDNESS with your letter.
