Over the course of the school year, students create both imaginative and realistic pieces of art in many different forms including drawing, painting, sculpture, and printmaking. In class, students learn about the elements of art: line, shape, form, space, texture, value, and color. Students also learn the prinicples of design.
I have been teaching at Nottingham School for almost two decades. I live in Nottingham with my family, and we love this town! Prior to teaching in Nottingham, I taught high school art in Washington, DC at the Maya Angelou School. Most recently in Nottingham, I taught seventh and eighth grade social studies - infusing a lot of art into the study of geography and history. I received a Bachelor of Arts from Colgate University in NY and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Simmons College in MA.
Two of my primary goals in teaching art are to make art fun and to instill a love of the creative process in all students. I am absolutely dedicated to providing a quality art education to all Nottingham students. I am looking forward to our partnership and to an amazing school year! Please contact me through email with any questions.
