7th grade Epic US Adventure Rotation 1

Introduction (Thanks to Kristen Whitworth for sharing this project)

You will have $2500 to create your own adventure across the United States. You only have 14 days to complete the challenge. Please see The Rules for more information. Good luck and happy adventuring!

The Rules

Your team is going to be responsible for researching, planning and executing a trip that will bring you across the entire United States! There are only a few rules you must follow and a few stops that you must make along the way:

This trip MUST take 14 days or less and you can drive for NO MORE than 12 hours at a time. You also must touch both oceans, Atlantic and Pacific. Finally, you can complete only one stop per city, we want you to see the United States! Also, because we want you to hit the road, you can't visit anything in New England...there are 43 other states...check them out!

You must start in Concord NH, at the car rental business that you want to use for your trip. From that point on, all mileage and cost needs to be documented.

Along the way you must make sure to visit each of the following:

For every stop you must create a slide in a Google Slideshow. Each slide must have:

  • Title of your location
  • What the location is
  • A picture of the location (or exhibit)
  • A screenshot of Google Maps
  • An explanation of what the location is and at least 3 facts about it
  • A citation for the picture you used

Throughout the Trip you are responsible for keeping track of your money and your mileage. You should use a Google Sheet to keep track of these two items, and formulas should be used to make your job easier. As far as expenses:

There are many details that I have purposefully left out, this is a chance to be very creative with not only your trip, but also your means of travel. If your group has questions, please ask Ms. Lewis

The Slideshow

Your slideshow needs to put every stop that you make, either your hotel that you are staying or the attraction you are visiting. Your first slide should start with the car rental agency that you are using and a picture of the car that you chose to drive. Keep in mind that if there are 4 people in your group, you will need a bigger car to transport everyone.

Each slide needs to include the name and information of your stop, price of the attraction/lodging and a picture that is cited correctly.
