About the Library
The library has just completed a renovation that took nearly 10 months. This started with an idea to modify the space into a more creative outlet for students in order to maximize the use of student voice and choice. The goals that we outlined for the renovation included:
- Opening up the floor space
- Reviving the aesthetics of the space with paint and carpet
- Adding air conditioning in order to utilize the space year around
- Increasing technology for student choice
- Replacing the furniture with stack-able / movable chairs and tables
- Decreasing "adult" space for an increase in "student" space
Through a warrant article with the town and a Title IV grant we were able to meet all of these goals and more. The new technology items that we added to the library include:
- Ultimaker 2+ 3D printer and supplies
- Silhouette Cameo 3 die cutter machine and supplies
- 20 unit Google VR kit with mobile cart
- 12 iPad units with protective cases
- 12 Chromebooks with mobile cart
- 75 inch touchscreen and stand
- OverDrive account for digital and audio books
