About the Library

The library has just completed a renovation that took nearly 10 months. This started with an idea to modify the space into a more creative outlet for students in order to maximize the use of student voice and choice. The goals that we outlined for the renovation included:

  • Opening up the floor space
  • Reviving the aesthetics of the space with paint and carpet
  • Adding air conditioning in order to utilize the space year around
  • Increasing technology for student choice
  • Replacing the furniture with stack-able / movable chairs and tables
  • Decreasing "adult" space for an increase in "student" space

Through a warrant article with the town and a Title IV grant we were able to meet all of these goals and more. The new technology items that we added to the library include:

  • Ultimaker 2+ 3D printer and supplies
  • Silhouette Cameo 3 die cutter machine and supplies
  • 20 unit Google VR kit with mobile cart
  • 12 iPad units with protective cases
  • 12 Chromebooks with mobile cart
  • 75 inch touchscreen and stand
  • OverDrive account for digital and audio books

  • 20 Makey-Makey units
  • 2 Ozobots
  • 2 Sphero robots
