Science National Honor Society Vision and Membership Information
SNHS will be the prominent scientific organization that will engender a new group of young thinkers who will be the future of industry, research, and scientific exploration for America.
We pledge to:
- Encourage and recognize scientific and intellectual thought
- Advance the students’ knowledge of classical and modern science
- Communicate with the scientific community
- Aid the civic community with its comprehension of science
- Encourage students to participate in community service and in turn, encourage a dedication to the pursuit of scientific knowledge that benefits all humankind
Member Requirements:
- A member must maintain a 3.0 overall weighted GPA on a 4.0 scale
- A member must maintain an Honors B+ average or College Prep A/A- average (3.83 weighted GPA) across all high school science courses
- A member must be enrolled in at least one Honors or Advanced Placement science class for both Junior and Senior years
If inducted you agree to do:
- 5 service hours during the year in addition to any for another honor society
- You need to attend 75% of all SNHS gatherings (meetings and activities)
- There may be an activity fee you need to pay to Norton High School
