Northwood School District will provide a free nutritional breakfast and lunch for any child under 18 while school is suspended during the pandemic. Meals will be prepared according to the National School Lunch Program guidelines. Meals will be delivered directly to your doorstep Monday, Wednesday, and Friday between 10:30-1:00. Two breakfasts and two lunches are included with each delivery. Someone must be home to accept the delivery in order to properly store the food. All families are eligible to receive the meal delivery at no charge while school is suspended. To sign up, call the school office. The final meal delivery will be on the last day of school, Thursday, May 28th.

Operation BackPack, which provides weekend food bags throughout the school year, will continue throughout the weeks of suspended school. The weekend food bags are distributed to families on Friday with the meal deliveries. Helping Hands is our community partner in the Operation BackPack Program.

During this continued time of uncertainty, we have come together with our community partner, Helping Hands, to provide another food source option for your family during the summer. Feed My People (FMP) from Eau Claire makes deliveries to COMFORTS in Minong on the first and third Thursday of each month throughout the summer. This will allow families in the Northwood School district to choose a food delivery once a month. You will have the opportunity to pre-order, via online or text message, the Monday before your monthly delivery date. You will be responsible to pick up your food order from COMFORTS, which is approximately 100 pounds of food, between 2:00-4:00 on your scheduled delivery date (only three pick-up dates the entire summer). This is a fantastic opportunity and is available to anyone that participated in the Northwood Meal Delivery Program. To sign up, use the document below and return to school by Thursday, May 28th.
