Tuesday: Read 20; Review Chapter 5 (practice test); Review Vocab

Wed.: Read 20; Chapter 5 Assessment; Review Spelling

Thurs.: Read 15; Lesson 6.1; Study for Spell./Vocab. Quizzes 

Fri.: No HW

Spelling: Students will have weekly individualized lists - Words Their Way lists will be in their binders once we have assessed and begun spelling!  While we will work with the words in class, a typical week will include 2 nights of spelling review (5-10 mins), and we will do quizzes each Friday. 

Vocabulary: (Wonders: "A Drop of Water"): cling, dissolves, gritty, humid, magnify, microscope, mingle, typical, molecule

On Fridays we will do a vocabulary check for the week's words. Vocabulary lists are generated from the week's reading material; typically either a Wonders story, or from a novel. 

*Reading: for independent home reading, students may use books, magazines, articles, etc. ; anything that will provided them with the chance build their stamina by doing extended, focused reading of word-rich text. We start by asking for 10 minutes of focus, and expect to steadily build up their stamina as the trimester continues.
