Fri.: No HW

Spelling: Students will have weekly individualized lists - Words Their Way lists should be in their binders!  While we will work with the words in class, a typical week will include 2 nights of spelling review (5-10 mins), and we will do quizzes each Friday. 

Vocabulary: Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing, Chap. 1: racket, measly, vanish, pastimes, slurping, stomach, hollered, advantages, delicious, announced

On Fridays we will do a vocabulary check for the week's words. Vocabulary lists are generated from the week's reading material; typically either a Wonders story, or from a novel. 

*Reading: for independent home reading, students may use books, magazines, articles, etc. ; anything that will provided them with the chance build their stamina by doing extended, focused reading of word-rich text. We start by asking for 10 minutes of focus, and expect to steadily build up their stamina as the trimester continues.
