NSHS Course Registration
This site contains all the information you need for course registration for the 2018-2019 school year including program of studies, registration process, and NSHS policies & procedures.
Scheduling for students entering grades 10 through 12 for the 2018-2019 school year will take place through mid February. Students will register for classes at home with their parents using the IC (Infinite Campus) portal. Access to the student portal will be similar to the parent portal. Students can access the portal at: https://ic.nsps.us/campus/portal/NSmithfield.jsp.
Student ID numbers, which can be found on your child’s schedule, are being used as the student’s User Name. The password for the student portal is the following:
<first name initial><last name initial><birthdate MMDDYY>
Example: Student - John Smith DOB 04/16/93 Student ID#: 233489
User Name: 233489
After logging in, each student can use the system to register for electives for the 2017-2018 academic year by clicking on the Registration: 18-19 link on the left hand side of the webpage.
The course search feature may be used to search by course name or course number. Students can select a course to view and have the option of selecting it as an elective request or as an alternate. Students need to be registered for a total of seven classes, including Health/PE. Students will be registered for PE and Health by the school counselors and do not need to select it. All requests must be completed by Sunday, February 25, 2018. Finalized course selection sheets will be sent home for parental review after school counselors meet with all students.
Each student will attend a brief assembly next week as a reminder on how to appropriately use the student portal. If you have a question or concern about this process, please contact your child’s school counselor immediately.
