Welcome Message

Welcome to Farley Elementary!  My role as your child's school counselor is to support them in their development as a human being and a student.

I am excited to get to know your child.  In the instance your child needs additional support, there are a variety of small group seminars that offer explicit instruction and practice in both academic and social-emotional skills.  I am also available as a resource to families when their child's needs extend outside of the school environment.

Please contact me with concerns regarding your child's academic and/or personal development, or questions regarding the counseling program.  I am happy to work with you to make your child's time at FES great!

A new school year is typically filled with excitement and nervousness.   It's important to remember that all children will not respond in the same manner and sometimes it is hard to predict how a child might feel until they are actually in the situation.  I am here to help families navigate through these times; below are some additional resources which families might find useful to review prior to school starting.

New Students

Welcome to Farley!  Moving to a new school can cause us to feel many emotions.  School counselors work with newcomers and their families to provide ongoing support throughout the school year, if needed.

When your child arrives at Farley, I will meet with them to introduce myself and invite them to participate in our Newcomers Club.  The Newcomers Club meets weekly as a way for students to meet other students and talk about the challenges of being in a new school.  Students naturally "graduate" when they feel adjusted and no longer require weekly support, however I remain a resource for all students in grades 4-6.
