College Credit Plus (CCP) is a dual enrollment program that allows students to earn college credit for students in grades 7-12 in Ohio's public schools. Students must meet the criteria to be "college eligibile" to participate. The vast majority of Northmont CCP students are high school juniors and seniors. If you or your student are interested in CCP classes, you can learn more by:
Visiting the College Credit Plus site at the Ohio Department of Higher Education.
Carefully reading through the CCP information provided by the NHS Counseling Center below.
Reading all Intent process materials during the Intent window.
State Intent deadlines are April 1 (for following school year) or November 1 (for spring semester only). Intent materials are available on this page for the two months prior to both deadlines.
Northmont College Credit Plus: Intent Process
The fall 2025 Intent window is for students interested in Spring 2026 CCP classes and is open until Nov. 1, 2025. Please complete the process below.
All students and caregivers must watch this Virtual Counseling session in its entirety. If you have questions or would like to speak about this further, please contact your school counselor.
There is no Google Form for the fall Intent window. The Google Form is used in the spring Intent window for restricted course planning and all restricted courses currently offered by NHS have coursework prerequisites that require students to already be part of the CCP program. If you have individual questions about your course eligibility, please see your school counselor.
Print and fill out the state-mandated CCP Intent packet in its entirety and return it to the NHS main office by the appropriate state deadline. Pre-printed copies of this packet are also available in the office or from your school counselor!
Step Four: Apply to College
By law, students can take CCP classes at the institution of their choosing. The classes taught at Northmont High School are accredited by Sinclair College or Edison State College. Please see the NHS CCP Course Offering document below to determine which institution accredits the courses you are planning to take and apply to that school by either November 1 or April 1, depending on which Intent window you are in.
To apply to Sinclair College, visit: apply.sinclair.edu
To apply to Edison State, visit: https://edisonohio.elluciancrmrecruit.com/Apply/Account/Login?ReturnUrl=%2fapply
Use a personal email address when applying to your college! Your Northmont email account blocks messages from outside senders.
Step Five: Placement Testing and Orientation
Check your email regularly to determine:
If you've been accepted as a CCP student at your institution.
If you are required to complete any placement testing for either program eligibility or course eligibility.
When registration opens and closes for each term.
What other information you need to know from your institution.
Step Six: Submit Any Existing IEP or 504 Plans to Accessibility Services
If a student has an existing IEP or 504 plan, they must submit their plan to their college's accessibility services office.
Accessibility Services offices approve accommodations for use in college classes and send those accomodations directly to CCP instructors.
If you are taking CCP classes through Sinclair, here is the direct link to Sinclair's Accessibility Services Office: https://www.sinclair.edu/services/support/accessibility-services/college-credit-plus-ccp-accessibility-services/
If you are taking CCP classes through a different college, contact your college's CCP coordinator to learn more about accessibility services at your school.
More Information About CCP at Northmont
Restricted classes are CCP classes taught to NHS students only during the school day by NHS faculty who are adjunct professors. Take a look at the restricted course offerings for the 2025-26 school year. Complete information is in the NHS Program of Studies.
Please review the risks and benefits of participating in CCP often as you complete the Intent process.
