Performance opportunities with NEAAAT Theatre give students a place to grow as artists, communicators, and collaborators. Through auditions, rehearsals, classroom performances, showcases, and productions, students learn how to use voice, movement, imagination, and discipline to connect with an audience.

Always choose pieces that are school-appropriate, age-appropriate, and comfortable for you to perform.
Auditions are not about being perfect. They are an opportunity to show preparation, courage, flexibility, and willingness to collaborate.
Focus on:
Choose material that fits you. Pick a piece that feels age-appropriate, clear, and connected to a character you understand.
Make bold, readable choices. A strong audition usually has clear emotion, specific character choices, and strong vocal energy.
Practice out loud. Memorization matters, but performance comes from speaking the words with purpose.
Recover with confidence. Mistakes happen. Directors are watching how you handle them, not whether you are flawless.
