7-12 Information | "The Imaginarium"
Our Jr.-Sr. High School offers a newly created makerspace (Sept. 2018), now officially named the Imaginarium. This classroom is furnished with Thimble Kits, two 3D Printers, a Laser Engraver, Vex Robotic Kits, Ozobot Evo's, Drones, a Cricut Machine, Paper Circuit Supplies, an Arduino Starter Kit, and much more! It also offers a variety of craft materials, such as beads, colored Duck Tape, yarn, popsicle sticks, cardboard, etc. Below, is the specific equipment, devices, and sampling of craft supplies that our Imaginarium is stocked with.
Hummingbird Robotics Kits include a micro:bit pocket-sized codeable computer (includes motion detection, built-in compass, and bluetooth), battery pack, lights, sensors, wheels, and motors allowing students to build a robot or kinetic sculpture out of any materials. Hummingbird provides a great way to introduce students to robotics, electronics, and coding while emphasizing creativity and imagination.
Code Hummingbird using Snap!, Java, or Python.
Thimble incorporates online courses, training, and hands-on projects to teach students engineering, programming, and electronics.
About the Learning Platform
The Thimble Learning Platform is meant to help you along your path to building, coding, and hacking your kit projects. Along with detailed tutorials on building your Thimble kit, there are "learning" modules that are meant to provide you with the "why" of it all. While building electronics kits can be a "connect the dots" affair, we're hoping that you come away with an understanding of why those dots are connected the way that they are.

3D PRINTERS
FlashForge Inventor 3D Printer
FlashForge Inventor is a filament-based 3D printer with a totally-enclosed design that is safe to use indoors and around children. It features a stunning 50 micron print resolution for head-turning quality. Five cooling fans are equipped with a temperature activated sensor that regulates the build chamber temperatures. This enhances the print quality and prevents common issues of printing ABS and PLA. Inventor is also great for printing with soluble filament or even exotic filament such as flexible or composite materials. Inventor features a built-in camera so you can monitor the progress of your prints remotely. Simply download and connect to the mobile app to see your design come to life. Bring your designs to life with Inventor today.

LASER ENGRAVER
Epilog Laser Mini - Provides an 18" x 12" work area with high quality engraving.and cutting of wood, acrylics, plastics, stone, and much more.
WAZER WATER JET CUTTER
WAZER can cut through sheets of any material including metal, stone, ceramic, composites, plastic, rubber, and foam. It cuts the materials the world is made of, and is great for professional-grade fabrication.
ROBOTICS
VEX Robotics EDR Classroom & Competition Super Kit
The Classroom and Competition Super Kit combines both the Mechatronics and Programming for the ultimate robotics learning and building experience. Design advanced mechanisms with included mechanical components while integrating the included sensors to increase robot feedback and created advanced programs.
Use the VEX EDR Curriculum to start teaching with VEX EDR, from the basics of engineering, robotics and design all the way up to a semester-ending classroom competition.
VEX 10 Year Anniversary Video (©2017)
Evo is an app-connected robot with a surprising creative spark. Evo bots can be coded two ways: online with OzoBlockly and screen-free with Color Codes. Makes young minds go from consuming technology to creating it!
DRONES
LITTLEBITS
littleBits - a growing library of electronic modules that snap together with tiny magnets for prototyping, learning, and fun. Each module has a specific function (internet connectivity, motors, lights, sound, sensors, etc.), and all modules snap together to make larger circuits. Building circuits is simple and intuitive, allowing anyone to create powerful, sophisticated electronics in a of matter seconds.
PAPER CIRCUITS & ARDUINO
Paper circuits are low-voltage electric circuits that are created on paper or cardboard using conductive copper tape, LEDs and a power supply such as a coin-cell battery. In addition to LEDs, you can also add switches, buzzers and motors to make your circuit more interactive.
Arduino is an open-source electronics platform consisting of two parts: a circuit board and a program that lets you tell the circuit board what to do. It can be used to make robots, sensing and controlling lights, motors, interactive objects like animated sculptures, toys and games, and much more.
