Sounds: Flip through flashcards and have your child identify letter sounds. Dictate a few sounds and have your child spell/write the sounds. Repetition will build automatic recognition!
Sight Words: Practice sight words. Begin with the pre-primer words and build from there after words are mastered. Repeated practice develops fluency!
Decodable Words: Practice reading short vowel word lists or flashcards. Dictate CVC (consonant, vowel, consonant) or CCVC (beginning blend) words and have your child spell/write the words.
