Ms. Liz Longley

Ms. Liz Longley is the School Adjustment Counselor at the Freeman-Kennedy Elementary School. As a school adjustment counselor, she advocates for every student to meet their social, emotional, academic, and career development needs. She supports the implementation of programs that meet the needs of the whole child including the school-wide social-emotional curriculum, Second Step®. Second Step® is a social-emotional learning program that teaches various social and emotional skills including emotion recognition and management, empathy, problem solving, bullying prevention, and goal-setting.
Liz received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Hamilton College (NY) and her Master of Education degree in School Counseling from Lynchburg University (VA). Liz hopes to positively advocate for all students, families, and staff.
In her free time, Liz enjoys officiating field hockey, basketball, and lacrosse from the youth to collegiate level. She also enjoys spending time with her cockapoo, Penny! Prior to embarking on the school counseling career path, Liz was a collegiate women's lacrosse coach for ten years.
