Hi everyone! I am so glad that to be returning to Gildersleeve for a second year! My journey has been a crazy one, so I'll try to keep it short. ;)

I grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico and after I graduated high school, I went to Adams State University in Alamosa, Colorado to study Secondary Education in English, History, and Physical Education. I graduated with my bachelor's in December of 2011 and got my first teaching job in January of 2012. After that semester, I moved back home to Albuquerque and started teaching at Sandia High School teaching 9th grade English and Yearbook. In 2014, my husband joined the navy, so I moved out to Charleston, South Carolina to join him. I taught Drama at Goose Creek High School for a year and a half; then we moved AGAIN to Newport News! I taught at Bethel High School in Hampton from January 2016-June 2016, and then took a year off to have my beautiful baby girl. This is my second year at Gildersleeve Middle School.

Now that all of that boring stuff is out of the way, here's some fun stuff about me: I have a daughter, Petra, who is the reason I get up in the morning! I am currently pregnant with our second child, due March 31st, 2019! I have a golden retriever, Rus, and a cat, Ygritte. My favorite color is orange, which makes sense because I am a HUGE Denver Broncos fan! My hobby is photography and working out at Burn Bootcamp. I am a Disney fanatic (and that includes Marvel and Star Wars), and Harry Potter is such a big part of my life that my daughter's nursery is Harry Potter themed! I love pizza, chips, and coca cola, and my guilty pleasure food is chocolate chip cookies!

I am looking forward to getting to know all of you!! It's going to be a great year!
