Welcome to Mrs. Green's 3rd Grade Class

Little Bit About Me

I have been in the field of education for most of my life. Both of my parents were teachers and have several family members who were also educators. As a career I can’t imagine anywhere else I would rather be!

My formal education includes a B.A. in Psychology and Human Development, a Masters of Arts Degree in Education, and an administrative credential. My informal education has been acquired each day in the classroom. I learn so much from my students and every year is a new learning experience; simply because each group of students are unique.

Professionally, besides teaching elementary school, I am an adjunct professor at Orange Coast College. I teach child development classes for the Early Childhood program. Most of the students in this program are early education teachers or future teachers. I have also had the opportunity of teaching for the Graduate Education program at Vanguard University. I have taught M.A. students SPSS (statistical data analysis software) and Curriculum Design. Although I am really busy, I enjoy mentoring adult learners. However, my favorite students are children!

Historically, I started working for NMUSD in 1999 as the founding Preschool Director. I started this program from conception to a reality, which was extremely challenging and very rewarding. After several years as an administrator, I decided it was time for me to return to the classroom. I absolutely love teaching!

I spend most of my free time hanging out with my husband Bob. We enjoy attending Smooth Jazz concerts, skiing, and going to the beach. We have three children and three delight grandchildren. Our children all attended NMUSD schools so I know personally what wonderful schools we have in this district. Besides that I spend a lot of time preparing for my classroom, correcting papers and preparing lectures for my college classes.
