Kindergarten Information
Kindergarten with Learning Together Anywhere
At Learning Together Anywhere, we offer a half-day Kindergarten program five days a week following the provincially-mandated half-day Kindergarten curriculum.
The Kindergarten curriculum follows Alberta Education’s Program of Studies and is taught by a certified teacher.
When is my child eligible for Kindergarten?
The entry age is five years by December 31 of the school year you are enrolling in. So, to start Kindergarten in September 2022, students must be five years of age by December 31, 2022. The age of entry is the same for all school divisions throughout Alberta.
2024-2025 Registration
If you have a child enrolled in Northern Lights Public Schools, enlist a new Kindergarten student in School Engage. Please log in to your PowerSchool Parent Portal account, select School Engage and follow the instructions in our Parent Registration User Guide for Existing Parents.
If you are new to Northern Lights, you can register using School Engage. We recommend using a computer (desktop or laptop) to complete forms in School Engage. Forms can also be completed on a tablet but are not mobile-friendly, and we do not recommend using a smartphone to complete forms. Detailed instructions for registering through School Engage are included in our School Engage Parent Registration User Guide.

The following activities are just an example of what may be offered this year. Please watch our website, school newsletters, Facebook and School Messenger for updates.
Skiing at Kinosoo Ridge
LTA offers all students a day of downhill skiing or snowboarding at Kinosoo Ridge Ski Hill near Cold Lake. Parents are responsible for the appropriate fees and transporting their child to the hill. Lessons and equipment rentals are available. Kinosoo Ridge rules and expectations apply.
Swimming Lessons
LTA works with the Cold Lake, Bonnyville, and Lac La Biche Pools to offer all our students swimming lessons. The sessions are offered in the spring. Information about registration, dates, times, and fees will be sent home in advance. Parents are responsible for transporting their children to the pool.
In-Person Events
In-person events happen monthly between Cold Lake, Bonnyville, and Lac La Biche and are offered to all students. Parents are responsible for transporting their children to the event.
Field Trips
Field trips are an important part of the educational experience and are offered to all grade levels during the school year. Field trips enhance the curriculum and give students new learning opportunities and experiences. Volunteers are encouraged and welcomed to join us as supervisors. Some field trips may have a cost to help with transportation or an associated expense, such as an admittance fee.
