Facilitation and Evaluation

In Unit 4, I had the opportunity to develop a chart listing the important characteristics that are attached to a practical eLearning facilitator and methods that reflect how these characteristics can be achieved. This chart allowed me to organize my ideas and those of my peers, and I went back through their discussions to choose the top "Wish List Items" I could find.
The chart I created can be used by any teacher to reflect on their teaching practices and what they need to do to achieve the particular wish list item. I kept the Wish List Items at a minimum, however, there is no reason that items and methods cannot be added at anytime. It could be used as a working document, adding and deleting items as needed or creating other charts or checklists. This activity allowed me to review my classmate's ideas and thoughts, reviewing what others felt were important when it came to having an effective facilitator and evaluation. This chart, or checklist, is something I will continue to refer to when doing any kind of eLearning activity as well as doing a traditional lesson. Online discussions can sometimes get overwhelming with everyone's posts, resources, and ideas, however, this particular activity allowed me to make more sense of things. Even though there is a lot to be learned through online discussions, sometimes things get missed or forgotten easily. The majority of characteristics that create a positive facilitator and evaluation are true for traditional teaching and evaluation as well. This document allowed me to organize the ideas and thoughts of others and I will have it to reflect upon whenever I need it in the future.
