Please see our Google Classroom for this weeks activities. I have included some new videos and activities. Please note that these are not required, but rather are available if you wish to further your child's learning. If you are needing support with the access or the use of our Google classroom, please let me know and I will do my very best to help.
Please continue to enjoy reading together as a family and enjoy the outdoors when you can. Take advantage of this precious family time together.
I wish you all a wonderful Easter. Although you may not be able to celebrate it in your traditional way, my wish for you is that you all stay safe and healthy.
Happy Easter!
Love Ms. F
The Newfoundland and Labrador English School District (Programs Division) is working to provide families with access to general resources and, in the coming weeks, primary, elementary, and intermediate resources for students to engage in learning activities while in-class instruction has been suspended indefinitely. These resources will be updated regularly and students are encouraged to share their work with educators for feedback, guidance, and encouragement where possible. Please note, there will not be an expectation for teachers to assign grades or values to any work being undertaken while students are home.
There should be no reason for families to be stressed or concerned about trying to recreate what is achieved in the regular school environment. Within the District, our current collective focus is on our learners and our staff; on maintaining and even strengthening our relationships. These are challenging times for us all. Let's focus on doing what we can, while looking after our own health, supporting each other, and attending to those in need around us.

The following are excellent videos we use each week when introducing, reviewing and practicing letters, sounds and formation. The are all found on YouTube by searching the following:
You can use Popsicle sticks, pipe cleaners, Play Dough, Cheerios, paint, sand, snow (add food coloring) , markers, crayons, bingo blotters, chalk, etc to form the letters. Then have a scavenger hunt around your house for things that begin or end with the letter sounds and illustrate them. Our class loved the Mystery Bag- Letter of the week: you could place something that begins with a letter in a bag and have them guess it and illustrate it.
Have fun!
