All visitors to the school, INCLUDING PARENTS OF STUDENTS, are requested to CHECK INTO THE OFFICE UPON ENTRY INTO THE SCHOOL. Assistance will be provided upon request. This will help to reduce interruptions of students’ work in the classroom and control the large numbers which are in the corridors prior to, during, and following classes. Most importantly, it helps ensure the safety of our students.
Please be advised that we have video surveillance on our property and throughout our building.
LIONS BINGO – GAME 8
St. Anne’s Academy has been given Game 8 of the Lions Bingo for the month of November. Each week (beginning Monday, November 4), the youngest and only student in each family will be given two (2) cards. Money ($4.00 per week) should be returned by Thursday of each week. Once again, we thank the Placentia Lions Club for their continued support of our school!
Please note that we have only ONE MONTH of Lions Bingo this year. As such, we ask that all families contribute to this fundraiser. If for any reason you do not wish to purchase Bingo cards, a monetary donation would be greatly appreciated.

We are excited to announce that we will be starting a coding club in November. We will begin with grade 6 in November and then rotate through each grade level throughout the year. Keep an eye out for your coding month!
KIDS FOR KINDNESS GROUP
Our Kids for Kindness Group (grade 6s) will be starting in November with meetings scheduled for November 4, 18 and 25.
If you have a child who will be attending Kinderstart this year, please make sure your child is registered. The first session is scheduled for Friday, December 13.
This is a reminder that electronics (including ipads, cell phones, etc.) are not permitted to be used in school. If students bring such devices to school (for the bus ride), they must be stored in their lockers during the day. Please note that we are not responsible for lost, damaged or stolen devices.

SKATE EXCHANGE PROGRAM
Due to the generosity of our school community, we have a large number of skates here at the school that are available for children to borrow (whether for a day, a week, or a season). Drop by the office and we will direct you to skate room where children can try on a pair to borrow.
TERRY FOX WALK DONATION
On Friday, September 27, 2019, staff and students of St. Anne’s Academy participated in the Annual Terry Fox Run. A total of $512.00 was raised. Thank you to everyone who donated to this worthy cause!
NON-PROFIT CLOTHING DRIVE
The Placentia, Cape Shore and surrounding areas are looking to collect previously loved clothing (except underwear - only new will be accepted) or any type of bedding you would like to donate to others who may be in need. Once clothing has been collected, a time and place will be provided for anyone who would like to avail of the service. Please feel free to contact the following:

On Thursday, October 31, 2019, there will be a Halloween dance after lunch.
Please bring your costume with you so that you can change into it during lunch. Popcorn will be sold throughout the day at a cost of $1 per bag. Don’t forget to bring an extra juice! Please also be reminded that costume accessories such as swords, knives, guns, etc. are not permitted.
The Freshwater Community Centre is hosting a haunted house on Saturday October 26th from 5pm - 8pm. Donations will be accepted at the door and all proceeds will be going towards the upgrades to the Freshwater Playground and skate park. Open to all ages.
TRUCK OR TREAT
Decorated vehicles will line up in the Town Square before 6 and serve treats until 7:30 pm. Join us in the Town Square on Sunday, October 27, 2019 at 6:30-7:30 p.m.
