Hooked Rug

This rug is from my great-great-grandmother and is now over 100 years old. She used it to make mats for her house and for her children. Her children loved colourful mats, so she made a lot of them. It was a pastime for her, too.

This hook mat is made of a few pieces of wood and a lot of nails. My great-great-grandfather did it for her. To make the rugs all you need to do is place the rug fabric between each hole until you are done and satisfied. Her child loved colourful mats, so she made a lot of them. As much as she loved to hang pigtails, but it was also a feminine work, so it was very practical.

This artifact means a lot to my family because it's one of the few things left of my great-great-grandmother and father. It first belonged to my great-great-grandmother then to my great-grandmother, and now it stays in my grandmothers house. Maybe one day it will be passed on to me. That says a lot about who she was a long time ago. The colour of the style and it has not been retouched since its passage. It will forever remain unfinished. The more it is transmitted, the more it means to keep your memory alive and never forget it. It's always what she wanted.

Tapis à crochets

Ce tapis à crochets est à mon arrière-arrière-grand-mère et a maintenant plus de 100 ans. Elle l'utilisait pour fabriquer des nattes pour sa maison et pour ses enfants. Ses enfants adoraient les nattes colorées, alors elle en fabriquait beaucoup. C'était un passe-temps pour elle aussi.

Ce tapis à crochets est composé de quelques morceaux de bois et de nombreux clous. Mon arrière-arrière-grand-père l'a fait pour elle. Pour fabriquer les tapis, tout ce que vous avez à faire est de placer le tissu du tapis entre chaque trou jusqu'à ce que vous ayez terminé et satisfait. Son enfant adorait les nattes colorées alors elle en fabriquait beaucoup. Autant elle aimaccrocher des nattes, mais c'était aussi un travail féminin, donc c'était très pratique.

Cet artéfact signifie beaucoup pour ma famille parce que c'est l'une des seules choses qui restent de mon arrière-arrière-grand-mère et père. Il a d'abord appartenu à mon arrière-arrière-grand-mère puis à mon arrière-grand-mère et maintenant il reste dans la maison de mes grands-mères. Peut-être qu'un jour cela me sera transmis. Cela en dit long sur ce qu'elle était il y a longtemps. La couleur du style et elle n'a pas été retouchée depuis son passage. Il restera à jamais inachevé. Plus cela se transmet, plus cela signifie de garder sa mémoire vive et de ne jamais l'oublier. C'est toujours ce qu'elle voulait.
