Greetings Cadets, Parents, and Senior Members,

Welcome to New Jersey Wing Basic Encampment 2024 (BE24) and Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst. Basic encampment is a week long journey to develop leadership skills, investigate the aerospace sciences and related careers, commit to a habit of regular exercise, and solidify their moral character. Cadet students learn about following, CAP, and military life, while improving confidence; cadet cadre learn to lead, building high performing teams, and attaining group goals.  Every cadet will emerge on graduation day with new knowledge and skills to apply in the real world.

The new encampment graduates will also be poised to proceed to the first major milestone in the cadet program, the Billy Mitchell Award. Earning this award prepares the cadet for new learning experiences as a cadet officer and also secures a higher rank and pay if he or she enlists in the Air Force  So encampment is the gateway to the next level of learning and achievement in the CAP cadet program. The military-style training opportunities and military life immersion will give cadets an idea of what careers are available throughout the military and the rigors of life in today’s military.  

BE24 will prove to be a very exciting year. There will be multi-level learning which is sure to produce outstanding cadets.
